As part of H2 Moves Europe, Hype, the world’s largest fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) taxi provider, has been increasing the number of hydrogen-fuelled FCEV taxis in Paris during a busy summer of international events, and beyond.

Aligned with H2 Moves Europe’s commitment to drive FCEV model variety in order to support broader technology uptake, the H2 Moves Paris fleet operated by Hype contains a number of different FCEV models, including models that are wheelchair accessible.

As the official Paris 2024 Paralympic Games taxi provider, Hype will now provide free transportation for wheelchair users, allowing individuals with mobility challenges to travel to and from games events using Hype’s hydrogen-powered H2 Moves Paris vehicles with zero exhaust emissions.

To promote uptake Hype is collaborating with leading French disability organisations APF France Handicap and Handisport Federation. Rides can be easily booked through the Hype app.

Benny Oeyen, Executive Head of Market Development for Anglo American, the leading global miner supporting the H2 Moves Europe initiative, said: “This scheme reflects growing FCEV model diversity and our shared commitment to promoting sustainable transport solutions that are accessible to everyone. We are proud to support the paralympic community in this way and to demonstrate the positive impact of hydrogen mobility on inclusivity”.
